Kogarah Town Centre

Urban were engaged by Kogarah Town Centre Pty Ltd to deliver the redevelopment of Kogarah Town Centre. Kogarah Town Centre Pty Ltd obtained development consent to redevelop the existing shopping centre and construct a new Aldi Supermarket, extend the existing Woolworths Supermarket and construct 14 new specialty tenancies.

Kogarah Town Centre Pty Ltd’s main requirement for the redevelopment was to ensure completion of the works and commencement of trade of all tenancies prior to Easter 2012.

To achieve this Urban delivered an early works contract only four weeks after their appointment and engaged the managing contractor via a design and construction contract only seven weeks after their appointment. Through an EOI campaign and negotiated contract, Urban ensured a competitive contract value whilst developing detailed existing site audits and performance briefs to ensure a high-quality end product for the long-term hold owners.

With the site being located as an air rights development over Kogarah train station and crossing between two councils the authority negotiations were critical in the successful delivery of the development. Urban were involved in the negotiations with Rail Corp and both councils.
